Investment Funds
The Ontario Securities Commission regulates investment funds that offer securities for sale to the public in Ontario and mutual funds that are organized under the laws of Ontario. Such funds must comply with the requirements of the Securities Act (Ontario), as well as with any related rules of the OSC.

This section of the OSC website provides a basic outline of how to comply with those requirements. It describes the steps a fund needs to take to:

  • distribute and market securities
  • conduct its operations
  • disclose information on a timely and accurate basis
It also provides information on exemptions that may be available in certain circumstances, and explains how to file documents with the OSC.
