Companies
The Ontario Securities Commission regulates companies that offer securities for sale to the public in Ontario. It monitors compliance with the requirements of the Securities Act (Ontario), as well as with any related rules and policies of the OSC. It also monitors compliance with rules governing take-over bids and special transactions.
This section of the website provides a basic outline of how to comply with Ontario securities law and explains how to file certain documents with the OSC. It describes the steps a company needs to take to:
- distribute and market securities
- disclose information on a timely and accurate basis
- apply for regulatory exemptions.
