Selling Securities
An investment fund that wants to offer its securities to the public in Ontario must prepare a detailed disclosure document known as a prospectus.
The prospectus contains key information about the investment fund and the securities offered. For more information on prospectuses for investment funds, see Prospectus Offerings.
In certain cases, an investment fund may distribute securities without a prospectus. For more information, see Exempt Distributions.
An investment fund that has previously offered securities to the public may also wish to issue rights to its current investors to acquire additional securities of the fund. For more information, see Rights Offerings.
