Public Companies
This section contains a list of all public companies in Ontario. These companies are required to make continuous and timely disclosure of material information about their activities, including filing documents with the securities commission as required by Ontario securities law. All disclosure documents filed electronically by reporting issuers with securities regulators in Canada are available free of charge on the SEDAR (System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval) web-site.
Each Friday, the OSC posts a weekly summary of insider transactions reported by insiders of Ontario reporting issuers in SEDI ™(the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders). The weekly summary contains insider transactions reported during the 7-day period ending Thursday at 4:00 p.m (i.e. the day before posting). All insider transactions filed in SEDI may be viewed on the SEDI website at www.sedi.ca.
You may use the weekly summary only for your own information and educational purposes. You may not: (1) modify the weekly summary; (2) copy the weekly summary onto your own or another website; (3) incorporate the weekly summary into a product you create; or, (4) re-sell the weekly summary or any information contained in it. National Cease Trade Order List: |
To determine whether a Cease Trade Order (CTO) has been issued by a Canadian securities regulator or to check the status of an existing CTO, you can search the National CTO Database through the Canadian Securities Administrators website at www.csa-acvm.ca. This Database is a central repository for all CTOs issued by Canadian securities regulators and contains real-time information (updated within moments of entry) about all Canadian public reporting issuers whose securities have been cease-traded, including issuers listed and trading on the TSX, TSX Venture, CNQ and non-Canadian stock exchanges, as well as individuals and other entities who have been ordered to cease trading certain securities in specified circumstances. The Database also contains historical CTO information as far back as 1971. The names of all Canadian public reporting issuers whose securities have been cease-traded by a Canadian securities regulator are located in the Database under Issuer CTOs (a direct link to the Issuer CTO list). The names of individuals and other entities who have been ordered to cease trading certain securities in specified circumstances are located under Non-Issuer CTOs (a direct link to the Non-Issuer CTO list).
The National CTO Database was previously accessible through the Market Regulation Services Inc. website at www.rs.ca and a link will be provided on that website to the Database's current location. Interested parties may register with the CSA to receive real-time e-mail notification of all CTOs.
Please note:
If, while you are using the National CTO Database, you are unable to find results using the Issuer Name/Alias search feature (which is specific to complete spelling, spacing and punctuation), you may wish to use the Keyword search feature instead.
