Tips for protecting your money

The best way to protect your money is to be an informed investor. Before you make an investment decision, check in with these four Knows:

Know where you're going with your investments.

Investing your money can help you reach your future goals, but you’ll need to do some homework first.

  • Set some financial goals. Start with the Investment Planning Worksheet to help you look at your current situation. This is also key information to share with an adviser.
  • Decide what’s important to you as an investor. How much risk are you wiling to take? Take the Risk Comfort Level quiz to find out.
  • How much do you know about investing? Check your investment knowledge with these quizzes and read the Basics of Investing to help you get started.
  • Keep track of your investments. Use investorED.cas Understanding Your Account Statement tool to help cut through the jargon.
